Who We Are

Viral Guard Systems is a Bay Area-based company founded out of the need for better health and safety standards amidst the COVID-19 crisis. We create plexiglass sneeze guards for businesses to keep their teams and customers safe from the spread of contagions like COVID-19, the common cold, and the flu.

Viral Guards are a simple solution to implement for your place of business, as they are easily installable with no hardware needed. We manufacture each of our products to order using a laser CNC machine at our warehouses in San Francisco and Oakland, ensuring a quality creation each time.

Whether it’s a hotel, restaurant, coffee shop, catering service, bar, or another place of business, we have a product for you. You can browse our current product offerings here. Viral Guards can be customized with your logo or a message of your choice as well.

Have a uniquely-shaped space that you’d like a Viral Guard for? We also offer custom orders based on the size you need – call us at (415) 938-8886 or reach out to us online to get started.

Our Founding Story

Devon Meyers, an Oakland-based maker, teamed up with Micah Byrnes – Partner and Creative Director of Monarch, The Great Northern, and The Pawn Shop – when the COVID-19 pandemic began to brainstorm how they could help people stay healthy. With a laser CNC machine and the idea for a viral protection shield, Viral Guard Systems was born.

These laser-cut viral guards were first launched via a GoFundMe campaign to donate the shields to essential businesses in need. With over $11,000 raised and numerous shields gifted, Viral Guard Systems decided to open our product offerings up to the general public for purchase.

Viral Guard Systems also believes in community support – we employ out-of-work staff who have been furloughed or let go due to COVID-19.
